"It's still beautiful here..."
"Can you imagine a Nordic bath right there, facing the meadows?"
At first, they were just daydreams tossed about during an evening stroll, ideas shared without really thinking they would ever see the light of day. But these little reflections continued to accompany us. They matured slowly, over the seasons, until they became undeniable.
What if we created a place here where others could also slow down, breathe, and fall in love with this landscape that we love so much?
This is how "Lodge Story" was born.
The idea of a wooden cabin nestled between the trees and meadows, with only our horses as neighbors. A refuge where time seems suspended, where we come to reconnect, as a couple or as a family, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
But before building this cabin, there was another story...
Andréa grew up in Cambron-Saint-Vincent, a village she knows by heart and has never stopped loving. Bastien fell under its spell a few years later, captivated by its landscapes, country lanes, heritage, and the gentle pace of life found only in small villages.
In 2016, fresh out of engineering school, we bought an old family barn dating back to the 19th century. For nearly four years, evenings, weekends, and holidays were devoted to its renovation. Stone by stone, beam by beam, we breathed new life into it, transforming it into our home. It was a demanding yet unforgettable adventure, teaching us that with patience, passion, and a lot of hard work, the most beautiful projects always come to fruition.
In 2019, we got married. The following year, our son Marius joined the family. A few months later, we purchased the neighboring meadow. At that time, we didn't know it yet, but this land, where our horses had grazed for over 15 years, was about to become the home of what would become Lodge Story.
Our profession has taught us to design and build large-scale projects. Our passion, however, has inspired us to create a more personal project. A place that reflects who we are. A wooden cabin conceived down to the smallest detail, built with sustainable materials, and designed to blend seamlessly into its surroundings.
Our many travels have also fueled this vision. From Scandinavian cabins to lodges lost in the heart of nature, we've discovered places capable of making you forget everyday life from the very first moment. We wanted to recreate that feeling here, at home, in the heart of the Hainaut countryside.
Today, Lodge Story is the culmination of all these years: our love for our village, our passion for building, our taste for travel and our desire to share a place where everyone can write their own story.
Because ultimately, that's exactly what we want to offer: much more than just a night in a cabin. A break. A memory. A moment of happiness to experience, quite simply.
